Coaching Specialty: I plan to incorporate my 20 plus years of experience in education, program planning, facilitation, training and mentoring to coach professionals who are reentering the work force, being promoted to more challenging positions, contemplating career or life changes, starting a new business, and those who are thinking about retirement/next steps. I love working in collaboration with dynamic individuals and assisting them to reach their potential.
Business Experience: The breadth of my experience has been work in the education, health and non-profit arenas. The department which I most recently was overseeing within a large school district focused on health related programs and support services for students and families K-12. Within this role, I brought in substantial local, state and federal grant dollars and initiated program development and implementation in diverse school sites and across all levels. I utilized mentoring/coaching skills daily, overseeing a staff of over 200, and working with a core team of program administrators. In this environment, effective communications skills were key to ensure programs and services were implemented smoothly and positive results achieved. I have coached elementary and secondary level site Principals and numerous staff who started as classroom teachers and grew to than become managers and resource specialists.
I have taught students from elementary school through adulthood including the University level. For the past 10 years, I have sat on three non-profit Boards of Directors working locally, nationally and internationally. I am earning my coaching certification from The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara and will be credentialed by ICF. I hold a MPH, a Master’s in Organization and Leadership as well as being a Certified Health Education Specialist. I am currently coaching corporate clients. I have also used my coaching skills to coach volleyball and tennis and continue to be an active adult!
Coaching Statement: I believe that coaching is a method of working with individuals and groups on competencies needed for managing long-term effectiveness in our world of constant change. My life experiences have shown me that I have been a "coach" both as a teacher and an administrator. I believe I am an effective "change agent", the facilitator who can help clients explore new options and find greater meaning in life.
